Expert Talk on Forensic Nursing: Bridging Healthcare and Justice

Cauvery College of Nursing, Mysuru, organized an insightful expert talk on “Forensic Nursing: Bridging Healthcare and Justice” for B.Sc. Nursing students.

The session was delivered by Dr. Chandrashekhara, Deputy Director, Regional Forensic Science Laboratory, Mysuru. He highlighted the vital role of forensic nursing in medico-legal case management, evidence preservation, accurate documentation, reporting procedures, and the legal responsibilities of nurses in healthcare settings.

The interactive session provided students with valuable insights into the emerging field of forensic nursing and its crucial contribution to both patient care and the justice system.

The program was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Rajkannan N., Principal, Cauvery College of Nursing, Mysuru, and Mrs. Niky Mathew, Faculty Coordinator.

19th Graduation Ceremony

Psychiatry Programme

On the occasion of the Psychiatry Programme, an Alcohol Addiction Awareness Programme was organized at St. Mary’s Hospital by the 2nd Year GNM students of Cauvery School of Nursing with the objective of creating awareness about the harmful effects of alcohol addiction.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of Sr. Ann Mary, Sr. Dravya, and other faculty members. Mr. Mallesh actively participated in the programme and contributed to its success.
During the programme, the students provided health education and created awareness among patients regarding alcohol addiction, its adverse effects on physical and mental health, preventive measures, and the importance of seeking timely treatment and rehabilitation. The programme was well received by the participants and helped enhance awareness about leading a healthy and addiction-free life.

World No Tobacco Day Rally

On the occasion of World No Tobacco Day, a rally was organized at St. Mary’s Hospital by the 2nd Year GNM students of Cauvery School of Nursing to create awareness about the harmful effects of tobacco use and promote a tobacco-free society.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of Sr. Ann Mary, In-charge of Psychiatry, De-addiction and Rehabilitation Department, Sr. Dravya (Ward In-charge), and other faculty members. Mr. Mallesh, Counsellor, actively participated in the programme. The rally was also supported by the Ashokpuram Police Department

World No Tobacco Day

World No Tobacco Day Observed at Keelanapura PHC today, on 30/5/2026 third-year GNM students from Cauvery School of Nursing, Mysore, organised a World No Tobacco Day initiative at the Keelanapura Primary Health Centre under their community health program. The event was attended by prominent health officials, including Administrative Officer Dr. Suresh, Block Health Education Officer Mr. Krishnamurthy, Lady Health Visitor Padma, and Health Inspector Mr. Pradeep Kumar. The nursing students actively educated the gathered public on the dangers of tobacco use and tobacco cessation methods.

Vistara 2.0

The energy, creativity and spirit of togetherness came alive at Vitara 2.0, the annual fest of Cauvery College. From vibrant performances to exciting activities and unforgettable moments, the event brought students together to celebrate talent, teamwork, and campus life with great enthusiasm.

A Narcotic Drugs Awareness Program

A Narcotic Drugs Awareness Program was held on 27 April 2026 at Cauvery College of Nursing for B.Sc. Nursing and GNM students. The session, led by officials from Allanahalli Police Station, highlighted drug abuse, illegal trafficking, legal implications, and the role of youth in promoting a drug-free society. The program was conducted in the presence of the Academic Dean and Principal, with active student participation.

Lamp Lighting & Oath Taking Ceremony

The Lamp Lighting and Oath Taking Ceremony 2025–26 was successfully held on 18th April 2026 at Cauvery Group of Institutions. Organized by Cauvery School & College of Nursing and the event marked the students’ formal entry into the nursing profession.

The ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Prof. M. Pushpavathi, Director, AIISH Mysore, along with distinguished guests Dr. J. Hariprasad and Dr. Sarala Chandrashekar, and presided over by Dr. G. R. Chandrashekar.

The program featured the traditional lamp lighting and nursing oath, symbolizing knowledge, service, and commitment to compassionate care. The event concluded successfully with active participation from faculty and students

Seminar on Menstrual Hygiene

Cauvery College of Nursing, Mysuru & St.Alphonsa college of Nursing, organized an insightful seminar on Menstrual Hygiene for 1st year nursing students on 28th March. The session was effectively delivered by Dr. Megha K and Dr. Surabhi Bathja from Cauvery Heart and Multi-Speciality Hospital, enriching students with awareness and practical understanding.
